In Sūrah Najm, the focal point is how the disbelievers accused the beloved Messenger of Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala to have spoken from his own desires and to have made up whatever had been revealed to him. Despite him being given the title al-amīn (the trustworthy one) by themselves, they still rejected the truth and didn’t want to believe him.
This sūrah also explains how the disbelievers were arrogant and turned a blind eye to what the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam had to convey and still carried on worshipping their idols. They attributed the idols to Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala and referred to them as the assistants of Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala implying that Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala is not powerful enough to fulfil all their needs. Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala then mentioned how he destroyed the other nations due to their disbelief and rejection of the truth.
